On Saturday, July 4, a collision between two BMTC buses near the KR Circle junction in Bengaluru left several passengers injured. The accident occurred during the morning rush hour, with one bus ramming into another that had stopped at the traffic signal. As a result, multiple commuters were trapped inside, necessitating a rescue operation by emergency personnel. The impact of the collision was severe, with the front portion of one bus completely crushed. A woman passenger suffered serious injuries, including a trapped leg, and had to be extricated by rescue teams. The driver of the bus also sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The accident caused significant traffic disruption around KR Circle, one of Bengaluru’s busiest intersections. Long queues of vehicles formed on adjoining roads as the damaged buses blocked traffic movement. The Bengaluru Traffic Police issued an advisory, urging motorists to avoid the KR Circle stretch and use alternate routes until congestion eased. A case has been registered, and police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Preliminary findings suggest that the speeding bus failed to stop in time, but officials are also examining whether driver negligence, mechanical failure, or other factors contributed to the collision.
