On June 29, in Kundapura, Dr. Bharathidevi P. Shivamogga emphasized the need to understand the interconnectedness of caste, religion, and class to advance the women’s movement. Speaking at a special lecture and discussion program, she stressed that empowering women requires a shift in the patriarchal mindset prevalent in society. The event, held at Ambedkar Bhavan, was jointly organized by the Karnataka Sahitya Academy Bengaluru, Chakora Sahitya Vichara Vedike Udupi, and Samudaya Samskrutika Sanghatane Kundapura. She urged women to take a more active role in society, making their voices heard. The program was inaugurated by retired Kannada Professor Dr. Rekha Bannadi, who released the ‘Mahila Munnade’ books published by the Karnataka Sahitya Academy. Dr. Sadananda Byndoor, President of Samudaya Kundapura, highlighted the organization’s commitment to promoting pro-people values.
