Conversion through gaming app: NCPCR notice to probe against gaming platform!

New Delhi: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has written to the Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on the issue of conversion of minors through gaming apps and has asked them to investigate the app named Fortnight and Discord. He asked to submit the investigation report within ten days.
After the conversion case came to light, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights Priyank Kanungo wrote a letter to Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. In the letter, Satyamsha, the gaming app and the names of the accused in the conversion case have been mentioned.
The ministry has been requested to make such rules that minor children cannot host or upload, download, edit and share any game. Punitive action should be taken against anyone who does so, it said. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has asked the ministry to investigate and clarify which online games are available and on which browsers or platforms, while seeking information on online games and browsers. Instructions are given to ensure that minor children do not use these platforms and prohibited games.

There was a plan to take the minors to Dubai

A friend’s incitement to conversion
According to sources, in a chat between Baddo and the minor son of a Ghaziabad resident industrialist, Baddo was inciting the minor to convert his girlfriend. The police got information that Baddo was about to surrender.
