Pune: NCP chief Sharad Pawar, who is part of the India alliance, has shared the dais with Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid the opposition parties forming an “India” alliance ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.Pawar was the chief guest at prime minister Narendra Modi’s Lokmanya Tilak National Award ceremony in Pune, Maharashtra today to mark the 103rd death anniversary of freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak. Pawar’s move has created a lot of curiosity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who received the award, said it was a “memorable moment for me” and also had an open dialogue with Sharad Pawar.

Protest against PM Modi

Some social organisations and members of various political parties held a joint protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The protesters, led by prominent social activist Baba Adhav, waved black flags.Leaders of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) and various social organisations participated in the protest.

Shiv Sena wants confusion to be cleared

“When maha vikas aghadi or India leaders go to such events, confusion is created in the minds of people… The confusion among the members of the Union of India should be removed. But we are together,” Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said.

 

In an editorial in Shiv Sena (UBT) mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, PM Modi accused the NCP of corruption allegations and later created a rift in the party and created a political mudslinging in Maharashtra and formed the government with them.
