Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing critique of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi's political aspirations for the state, firmly rejecting his vision of a Muslim Chief Minister and a burqa-clad woman as Prime Minister. Speaking at the AajTak Panchayat event in Lucknow on Sunday, Adityanath asserted that such ambitions would never materialize.

The Chief Minister contended that Owaisi's political agenda was fundamentally against India, its Hindu majority, and the nation's constitutional values. He accused the AIMIM leader of seeking to weaken national unity, stating emphatically that Uttar Pradesh had no place for individuals lacking a constructive agenda for the state. "Owaisi will bring an agenda that is anti-India, anti-Hindu and against the country's constitutional values. Such an agenda seeks to weaken India's unity. That is why people like Owaisi have no place in Uttar Pradesh," Adityanath declared.

Adityanath's strong words followed Owaisi's recent statements regarding the potential for an independent Muslim political identity in Uttar Pradesh. Just days prior, Owaisi had referenced Abdul El-Sayed's victory in the Michigan Senate race in the United States, arguing that the "Abdul" of Uttar Pradesh would no longer be subservient but would emerge as an MLA. Owaisi had encouraged Muslims to foster their own political presence rather than solely supporting other parties, emphasizing that political success transcended religious identity.

Beyond Owaisi, Chief Minister Adityanath extended his criticism to the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, alleging their political approaches mirrored that of the AIMIM. He accused all three parties of disregarding India's interests and compromising the country's faith and identity, even suggesting they should unite. Meanwhile, Owaisi's earlier remarks had drawn responses from the Congress and Samajwadi Party. Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput viewed the success of Indians abroad, irrespective of their background, as a source of national pride. Samajwadi Party spokesperson Ashutosh Verma also acknowledged El-Sayed's victory, noting his Egyptian origin and Democratic Party affiliation.
