On July 17 and 18, the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons Society of India South Zone Conference – 2026 will take place at Yenepoya Medical College Hospital in Deralakatte. Organized by the General Surgery Department of Yenepoya Medical College, this event is being held in collaboration with the International Society of Coloproctology, the Association of Surgeons of India Dakshina Kannada City Branch, and Varwandelen Institute, Kochi. Dr. R. Padmakumar, former president of the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons Society of India, announced the details of the program at a press conference at the Ullal Press Club on Thursday.

The conference will commence with an inaugural ceremony on July 17 at 7 PM in the Endurance Hall of Yenepoya Medical College, which will be inaugurated by Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, Chancellor of Yenepoya University. The event will be attended by several dignitaries, including Pro-Chancellor Farhad Yenepoya, Pro-Chancellor and Director of Julekha Institute of Oncology Dr. M. Vijayakumar, and National President of SELSI Dr. K. Senthil Kumar.

During the two-day conference, participants will have the opportunity to attend special lectures and receive practical training on new technologies in modern surgery, including laser-based treatments for piles, fistula, and fissure, as well as advanced robotic surgery. The conference aims to provide a platform for surgeons to learn about the latest advancements in the field.
