On July 26, in Mangaluru, Yenepoya Arts, Science, Commerce and Management Degree College kicked off its annual sports activities for the year 2026-27. The event was organized by the Department of Sports Science and Wellness. Raymond D’Souza, a former Mr. World and retired Assistant Manager of Union Bank of India, inaugurated the activities. D’Souza emphasized that sports play a vital role in personality development, discipline, and stability, beyond just physical fitness. He stressed that success requires hard work, dedication, and continuous effort, and that the true measure of victory lies in striving to become a better person every day. Professor Jeevanraj, the Principal of Yenepoya Degree College, presided over the program. The institution also honored seven students who completed the first batch of the ‘Fitness and Wellness Trainer’ certificate course. Dr. Lakshmikanth Chatra, Principal of Yenepoya Dental College, was a guest at the event. Other attendees included Vice Principal Prof. Shareena P., Narayana Sukumar A., and Chaitra L. Shetty. Dr. Anandavelu T.M., the Sports Director, welcomed the gathering, while Dr. Deekshitha Prashanth introduced the guests and Prof. Pinakini Shetty compered the program.
