A woman reported being sexually assaulted by an unknown man in the Raidurgam locality that falls under Jubilee Hills police jurisdiction on Friday, 16 October 2026.
According to her statement, she was returning home on foot when the man approached, claiming he could secure her a job as a domestic helper. He persuaded her to join him in an auto‑rickshaw despite her wish to first inform her husband.
The driver ignored her request, diverted the vehicle to a secluded stretch of Road No 51, and assaulted her there.
After the attack, the survivor walked to the nearest police outpost in Jubilee Hills, lodged a formal complaint and was immediately taken to a hospital for medical care.
Jubilee Hills police recorded a First Information Report, reviewed CCTV footage from nearby cameras and have begun a search for the perpetrator.
Investigators say the footage may reveal the auto‑rickshaw’s registration number and the suspect’s appearance, which could lead to an arrest in the coming days.
Doctors at the hospital confirmed that the survivor suffered injuries consistent with a violent assault and provided necessary forensic samples.
Police spokesperson Mohammed Baleegh told reporters that the team is collaborating with traffic police to retrieve all available video records from the night of the incident.
The incident adds to a series of recent crimes reported from Hyderabad’s upscale neighborhoods, prompting local residents to demand stronger safety measures and quicker police response.
