Dr Poojita received a heartfelt send‑off from artificial insemination workers and senior officials of the milk producers’ cooperatives at the Kundapur Taluk Veterinary Medical Camp Office, under the Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Milk Producers Union.
The ceremony was chaired by Raghavendra Kome, President of the Kundapur Taluk Milk Producers Co‑operative Societies Employees Welfare Development Trust, who presided as the chief guest. Honorary President S Dayananda Rao, Assistant Manager Veterinary Dr Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Milk Producers Union, Secretary Yogesh Balkur and Treasurer Raviraj Basrur also took part in the proceedings.
Dr Poojita, who joined the Kundapur veterinary camp in 2024, hails from Andhra Pradesh. Within a short span after arriving in Kundapur, the doctor mastered the local Kundapra language, enabling close interaction with the farming community.
During the tenure, the veterinarian made regular home visits, offering guidance on animal health care, medical treatment and husbandry practices. Colleagues highlighted the doctor’s modest demeanor, courteous nature and unwavering spirit of service, noting the strong bond formed with both farmers and cooperative staff.
Speakers including Venkatesh Kinikat Belur, Satish Shetty Belur, Raju Beijadi, Devendra Kandavara, Yashoda Japti and Ramesh Basrur shared personal anecdotes, praising the impact of Dr Poojita’s work on the local dairy sector. The gathering of artificial insemination workers and chief executives of various milk producers’ cooperative societies echoed the sentiment, wishing the doctor success in future endeavors.
Devraj Tallur narrated the events of the day, while Srikanth extended congratulations to the departing colleague. The farewell underscored the collective appreciation for Dr Poojita’s contributions to animal health and the dairy community in Kundapur.
