Ullala: Old bridge Across Netravathi is in Pathetic Condiotion

Mangalore, May 28 (IANS) The old bridge of National Highway 66 across Netravathi river is in pathectic condition as complaint by motorists especially the two-wheelers. Motorists coming from the Thokkattu towards Pumpwell have to cross this old bridge. This bridge is about three-quarters kilo meter long as the motorist cross the bridge wholes are scattered all over the bridge a couple of whole are huge. Buses, lorries and cars can easily escape from the whole,but the scooter , bike auto rickshaw motorist a is facing danger.

The Mangalore Urban Development Authority (NHDA) with initiative of local M.L.A has taken the work of fencing the both side of bridge after increase of suicide attempt cases on the bridge. The both sides of bridge have been fitted with wire. But motorists say that road is remain the same and is very difficult to driving

The motorist is not facing much difficultly on bridge during the day. But at night, journey would become is very dangerous as some time street light is off due to power cut. Now it is lock down and vehicle movement is very less . After Lock down vehicle movement would be more and problem of travelling on bridge also would be much difficult.
