The Kannada and Culture Department in Udupi has announced its annual Kala Prathibhotsava, an art talent festival aimed at identifying and fostering artistic skills among children and youth across the district. Aspiring participants must submit their applications by 5 PM on October 26 to the Assistant Director's office located at Dr. Shivaram Karanth Kalagrama, Pragathinagara, Alevoor Grama, Manipal Post, Udupi District.
The festival welcomes three age categories: 'Balaprathibhe' for children aged 8 to 14 years, 'Kishora Prathibhe' for teenagers between 14 and 18 years, and 'Yuva Prathibhe' for young adults from 18 to 30 years. Competitions will commence at the district level, with first-place winners advancing to the zonal rounds, and subsequently, selected participants moving on to the state level. While no cash prizes are awarded at the district and zonal stages, participants reaching the zonal and state levels will receive travel allowances. All competitors at the district level will be issued participation certificates, with competition dates to be announced soon.
Candidates must provide age verification through a school certificate, 10th-grade marks card, a school-issued age record, or a birth certificate from a competent authority. Applications, written on a plain white paper detailing personal information, can be submitted in person or via post. School heads submitting entries must confirm birth dates and send separate lists per art form and category. Private applicants need school/college birth confirmation or a birth certificate from Panchayat, Municipality, or City Corporation.
