On June 25, in Kundapur, the Udupi District Police, in collaboration with Kundapur Bhandarkars College, launched the 'No Drugs: Bro' programme to combat the growing issue of drug addiction among youth. According to Udupi District Additional Superintendent of Police Sudhakar Naik, the current situation is alarming, with many young people losing their educational background, mental and physical health to drug addiction. This, in turn, burdens families, society, and the country. Naik emphasized the need for collective action to build a society free from drug addiction. Kundapur MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi presided over the programme, urging today's youth to become good citizens by avoiding drug consumption to contribute to a developed India by 2047. The event featured lectures by resource persons, including Psychiatrist Dr. Prakash Gholgar and Sub Inspector Nanjanaik N. Deputy Superintendent Pushpa administered the oath, while Kundapur Taluk Health Officer Dr. Premananda, Bhandarkars Graduate College Principal Dr. Shubhakarachari, and Pre-Graduate College Principal Dr. Saroja M. were in attendance. Inspector Jayaram D. Gowda introduced the programme, and Deputy Inspector Anup Naik gave the vote of thanks. The programme was narrated by Head Constable Madhusudan from Shankaranarayan Police Station.
