Udupi – On August 27, the Joint Director of Agriculture of the Udupi district announced that completing e‑KYC is now compulsory for farmers to obtain the upcoming instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) cash assistance.

The central government scheme has attracted 1,82,174 registered farmer beneficiaries in the district. Of these, 55,466 belong to Udupi taluk, 73,985 to Kundapur taluk and 35,821 to Karkala taluk. So far, a total of 1,65,272 farmers have successfully received payments under the programme.

Although the agriculture department has repeatedly circulated information and step‑by‑step instructions, officials observed that a segment of beneficiaries still lack a completed e‑KYC. The department therefore declared the current notice as the final opportunity for those pending cases to update their records.

Farmers who need to finish e‑KYC must visit the nearest Farmer Contact Center, Gram One Center or General Service Center. They should carry a valid Aadhaar card and the mobile number that is already linked to the Aadhaar. The verification process at these centres updates the digital KYC instantly.

Failure to comply within the stipulated period could mean exclusion from the next disbursement of the PM Kisan grant. The Joint Director of Agriculture urged all pending beneficiaries to act without delay, stressing that the upcoming instalment will be withheld from anyone who does not complete e‑KYC in time.
