On Monday, Udupi district reported significant progress in the Special Short Revision of Voters Lists (SIR-2026) process, with 93.88 percent of voters having undergone digitization. According to the State Election Commission, 9,98,792 voters out of a total of 10,63,876 have been digitized, leaving only 2274 census forms pending. The district has also seen 62,810 voters drop out of the electoral roll, including 21,072 deaths and 29,150 permanent transfers. Meanwhile, 8191 new voters have registered online, and 4191 individuals have not been found during house visits. District Collector Swarup T.K. announced that 1013 polling booths have achieved 100 percent digitization and verification, with Byndur, Kundapur, Udupi, Kapu, and Karkala constituencies contributing to this milestone. The number of polling booths with completed processes is as follows: Byndur with 224, Kundapur with 222, Udupi with 150, Kapu with 208, and Karkala with 209. This progress brings Udupi district closer to completing the SIR-2026 process.
