On July 6, Udupi district recorded 55.49% progress in distributing census forms, with a total of 5,90,349 forms distributed out of 10,63,876. District Collector Swaroop T.K. announced this update. The district has also made significant headway in digitizing census forms, with 33,620 forms digitized so far. During door-to-door visits, booth level officers found that 195 voters had passed away and 92 had permanently relocated. Additionally, 34 new voters have registered, and five migrant voters were identified. The Special Brief Revision of Voters’ Lists (SIR-2026) process has seen varying levels of progress across different assembly constituencies. In Byndur, 1,26,733 forms were distributed out of 2,41,863 total voters, while Kundapur saw 1,26,653 forms distributed out of 2,12,473 total voters. Udupi, Kapu, and Karkala have also made notable progress. To review the progress of SIR-2026, District Collector Swaroop T.K. held a meeting with newly appointed Sector Officers and Booth Level Supervisors in the Byndur assembly constituency. The meeting focused on the responsibilities of Zone Officers and addressing technical difficulties faced during home visits and data entry. Similar training sessions were also conducted in the Kapu assembly constituency under the guidance of the Election Registration Officer.
