Udupi Deputy Commissioner Swaroopa T.K. recently underscored the administration's commitment to public service, asserting that officials must ensure government scheme benefits reach every citizen. She delivered this message on Saturday while leading the 'Praja Seva Andolana' (Citizens Service Movement) meeting at the St. Francis Assisi Church Hall in Tallur, an event specifically organized for the Vandse Hobli level within the Tallur Gram Panchayat limits of Kundapura Taluk, part of the Byndoor Assembly Constituency.

The Praja Seva Andolana aims to prevent citizens from repeatedly visiting government offices by bringing various departmental services directly to them. DC Swaroopa T.K. urged officials to approach their duties with a spirit of 'dharma' (righteous conduct) and proactively address applications submitted across different departments, providing timely solutions.

Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantihole echoed this sentiment, drawing parallels between the current initiative and previous Janasamparka and Janaspandana programs. He stressed that the Praja Seva Andolana must evolve beyond merely collecting applications, serving instead as a vital platform for resolving public grievances on the spot. Hariprasad Shetty Kanmakki, President of the Kundapura Taluk Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee, also addressed the gathering. The event saw the presence of Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Prateek Bayal, Kundapura Sub-Divisional Officer Rashmi S., Kundapura Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Mahesh K.G., DySP H.D. Kulkarni, DDPI C. Lokesh, and DFO Shashikant, alongside officials from 22 district, taluk, and gram panchayat level departments, staff, and local citizens.

Kundapura Tahsildar Pradeep Kurudekar extended the welcome, while teacher Vasudeva Gangera compered the proceedings. Vandse Revenue Inspector Raghavendra D. concluded the event with a vote of thanks. During the session, citizens from across the Vandse Hobli submitted a total of 390 applications concerning various departmental issues. A significant portion of these, over 250 applications, sought solutions for drinking water scarcity. Additionally, more than 100 applications focused on road construction, development, and widening. Other concerns included electricity supply, the Gruhalakshmi scheme, and staff shortages in local health centers.
