Udupi :In Udupi, the district Congress committee organised a bicycle rally from the district Congress Bhavan to register protest against the central and state governments over price hikes, in association with the district unit of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) and the youth Congress.

Shashidhar Hegde who inaugurated the rally. earlier told the crowd that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has successfully run the country’s administration for ten years. “The NDA government, which subsequently came to power, has proven to be anti-people.” They promised to reduce petroleum prices during the election. People have finally realised that trusting their promises is useless. People are now hopeful that the days of their youth will return. Employment and business are now at an all-time low. At the same time, costs of daily needs, apart from fuel, have been rising beyond the reach of the average people. This rally is being held to protest the current government’s administration.”KPCC has stepped up to offer a month of support to persons who are suffering from coronavirus,” he explained.

Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, district Congress committee president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Udupi District youth Congress president Deepak Kotian, NISU district president Saurabh Ballal, secretary Kishan Hegde Kolkebail, Geeta Wagle, president of the Mahila Congress, and others were present.
