Two persons arrested for assaulting police constables at Urva station.
Mangaluru: Two people accused of misbehaving and attempting to abuse women constables at the Urwa police station have been arrested. Two cases were filed at Urwa police station in May over maintenance expenses and a water connection in an apartment. The water connection was re-established after a meeting with the apartment association, and cases were resolved.
However, when it came to the withdrawal of cases, Noel Sequiera, John Sequeira, and their daughter went to the police station and misbehaved with the officers, attempting to film a dialogue with the inspector in his chamber.
“During their visit to Urwa police station, Noel Sequeira, John Sequeira, and their daughter misbehaved with the police officials and attempted to record a chat with the inspector while in his chamber,” said Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar. During questioning, the family was rude to the female constable and other police station personnel.” He continued, “Two of them have been arrested for an investigation, and there is also video proof of the trio misbehaving with the workers.” The accused has been charged under sections 354, 353 of the Indian Penal Code.
