Five billionaires met a tragic end when they went to see the remains of the Titanic at a depth of 12,600 feet in the Atlantic Ocean. The Titan submersible, operated by Oceangate Expeditions, exploded in the Atlantic Ocean, killing all five people on board, the US Coast Guard reported.

Oceangate Expeditions organizes trips to see the sunken Titanic at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. The Titan submersible goes deep into the ocean carrying passengers and brings back the remains of the Titanic. But this time those who went met a tragic end.

On June 18, the submersible began a mission to explore the remains of the sunken Titanic off the coast of Newfoundland. A renowned Titanic expert, a world record holder adventurer, two members of Pakistan’s richest family and the company’s CEO were part of this luxury voyage on this submarine.

The US Coast Guard and deep-sea water experts from Canada, the UK and France launched a joint search operation for the Titan submersible on Sunday June 18, although the five passengers could not be saved. The U.S. Coast Guard says there are no survivors after a submarine exploded in the deep sea in the North Atlantic.

Details of five rich people who died

Not everyone can go to see the remains of the Titanic. Only the richest people in the world can see it, because once you go deep into the ocean and see the wreck of the Titanic, you have to spend millions. Yes, a ticket costs 2.5 lakh US dollars, which is roughly 2 crore rupees.

A wealthy businessman from the royal family of Pakistan and his son were also on board the ship that exploded. Details of all five are as follows.

1) Stockton Rush: Stockton Rush was the chief executive of Oceangate Expeditions, a Washington state-based company that operates tourist dives and was founded in 2009.

2) Paul-Henri Nergiolet: Nicknamed “Mr. Titanic”, French submarine operator Paul-Henri Norgiolet was one of the ship’s crew. Served in the French Navy for 25 years.

3) Hamish Harding: Hamish Harding, 58, was a British aviation tycoon with three Guinness World Records and a history of thrilling adventures. A year earlier, he had traveled to space through Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ company Blue Origin.

4&5) Shahzada and Suleiman Dawood: Prominent Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, 48, was the vice-chairman of Karachi-headquartered conglomerate Engro. Their son Suleiman, 19, was a university student and both held British citizenship.
