Saturday, July 22, 2023 / 13:26 The rate of active users on the “Threads” platform continues to decline, prompting the parent company, Meta Platforms, to develop new features to attract users.
Sensor Tower estimated that the number of daily active users on Threads fell for the second week in a row, reaching 13 million, down 70% from the peak on July 7. The average time spent by users on the platform’s applications decreased to only 4 minutes, compared to 19 minutes previously, according to a newspaper report.Wall Street Journal.
According to a SimilarWeb report, the average time spent by Android users in the US dropped to 5 minutes from its peak of 21 minutes on launch day.
On the other hand, the number of daily active Twitter users remains stable at 200 million, and the average time users spend on the platform is 30 minutes per day, according to estimates by Sensor Tower.
In this context, Meta officials, the company that owns the Facebook application, see that the decline is not worrisome and that they are working on adding additional features, especially since the company now aims to increase the number of users and improve the experience before trying to make a profit from the platform.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg echoed the same sentiments in an earlier post on Threads, emphasizing that the company is currently focused on stabilizing the platform before focusing on expanding Threads services.
