Currently, the highway between Mysore and Bangalore is being converted into a ten lane highway, with work completed by next year’s Dasara.

If the defending works are completed, the traffic duration of the two cities will be reduced to just 90 minutes. Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari tweeted to the people of the state in a tweet that the work will be completed and the highway will be made available to the public transport service by next day.

The road connecting the two cities is being developed under Phase-I of IndiaMala. The project has been undertaken in two packages. Minister Nitin Gadkari also tweeted pictures of the works.

The existing 135 kilometer road is currently a four lane highway and is being developed as a 10 lane road due to increased traffic.
