Bangalore : Two Kannada actors have been indicted for drug charges ten months after investigations into a drug case engulfed the industry. The Hindu reports that FSL tests confirmed that actors Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjana Galrani consumed drugs.
According to sources, since the urine and blood samples tests were inconclusive, the CCB collected hair follicles from the actors and sent them to the FSL in Hyderabad in October 2020. For the first time in a drug case investigation, hair samples were sent for testing, as traces of drugs can be detected in hair for up to a year, officials said.
The CCB generally only sends blood or urine samples, which are sufficient to detect whether drugs have been consumed in the past 24 hours, a senior officer said. The CCB may summon the duo again based on the new evidence. The two actors are currently out on bail.
