Bengaluru, June 01: The Karnataka government has suspended Tahsildar Ajit Rai, who was caught in the hands of the Lokayukta police. The Lokayukta Police had recommended his suspension. Lokayukta had found hundreds of crores of illegal property in the raid conducted on Saturday. The government said that Tehsildar Ajit Rai has been suspended from service.

Grade-2 Tehsildar Ajit Rai, who was waiting for the post, has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been ordered against him.

The decision was taken after the Lokayuktas raided Ajith’s properties on June 28 and seized Rs 40 lakh in cash and land documents worth hundreds of crores of rupees.

Lokayukta police arrested Ajit Rai after the attack and produced him in court on Friday. A Bengaluru court remanded him to seven-day police custody.

Ajith, who had a craze for cars, owns more than 10 luxury cars. Interestingly, all their vehicles have 1368 registration numbers.

According to TV9 Kannada, Ajith Rai wanted to set up a Formula 1 racing track near Doddaballapur. In this background visited several tracks around the world.

 

During the raid, the Lokayukta found documents of more than 100 acres of land in the names of many people.

According to reports, Ajith Rai is said to have assets of over Rs 500 crore.

The Lokayukta police are interrogating him and will take him to his native Puttur for further investigation.
