On July 14, Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar issued a government order directing all government departments, district administrations, local bodies, public sector undertakings, and government-owned companies to display anti-bribery notice boards. These boards, which must be installed in prominent and clearly visible locations, will carry a message in both Tamil and English stating that giving and accepting bribes are punishable offenses. The Vijay government has also instructed departments to publish this message on their official websites, along with a direct link to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption portal. The notice boards will display the message, “Bribe giving and receiving is an offence,” and provide contact details for the DVAC, including address, telephone numbers, WhatsApp number, fax number, and official email ID. The government aims to encourage the public to report incidents of corruption easily. To ensure compliance, inspection wings and cells under district collectorates will verify the installation of the boards and implementation of the instructions. Department secretaries and heads of departments must submit compliance reports to the Human Resources Management Department. This initiative follows the launch of a dedicated DVAC WhatsApp helpline, 9498180936, to enable citizens to report corruption quickly and promote transparency in public administration.
