On May 15, at the Indian Cultural Centre premises in Doha, Mr. Subramanya Hebbagelu was unanimously elected as the 15th President of Karnataka Sangha Qatar during the organization’s Annual General Body Meeting. A native of Byndoor in Kundapura Taluk, Karnataka, Mr. Hebbagelu has a strong background in social and community service, having served as Vice President of the Indian Cultural Centre, a member of the Advisory Council of the Indian Sports Centre, and Joint Secretary of the Indian Community Benevolent Forum. The election saw a significant number of members attend, demonstrating the community’s confidence in Mr. Hebbagelu’s leadership. The new Managing Committee, which will serve for the 2026-2028 term, comprises various members, including Mr. Anil Bhasagi as Vice President and Mr. Sujith Kumar Hosdurga as General Secretary. In his inaugural address, Mr. Hebbagelu expressed gratitude to the members for their support and affirmed the committee’s commitment to enhancing cultural, social, and benevolent activities. The committee has begun preparations for a range of events, including Labour Day and Mother’s Day celebrations, sports tournaments, and traditional festival celebrations. Mr. M. Ravi Shetty, the outgoing Chairman, acknowledged the support of members and office bearers during his tenure and commended their efforts. Advisory Committee members and representatives from various Karnataka-based associations in Qatar congratulated the newly elected committee and extended their best wishes.
