On Friday, the Moudlakatte IENG education campus in Kundapura hosted the opening ceremony of Navonmesh 2026, a state‑level science, commerce, cultural and sports festival for pre‑university students.
The event was formally launched by Rashmi S. R., former Assistant Commissioner of Kundapura subdivision and a KAS officer, who lit the ceremonial lamp and addressed the gathering. She emphasized that extracurricular platforms such as Navonmesh nurture hidden leadership qualities and skills, urging youth to seize opportunities for a brighter future.
Bollywood‑linked actor Roupesh Shetty, known for his stint on Bigg Boss, also took the stage. He highlighted that every individual possesses a unique talent, and festivals provide the encouragement needed to recognise and develop it. Shetty urged participants to showcase their abilities without hesitation and assured them that consistent effort leads to success.
Dr. S.N. Bhat, Academic Director of IENG Education Institutions and chair of the program, underscored the importance of identifying latent talent through inter‑college competitions. He noted that active participation and a hunger for learning matter more than merely winning.
Welcoming remarks were delivered by Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde, principal of MITK, who outlined the objectives of Navonmesh. Principal Jennifer Freida Menegas of MCN and principals Dr. Pratibha M. Patel (IENG ISC) and Prof. Hemalatha (IENG AHS) were also present.
Thousands of students and faculty from various colleges filled the auditorium. Coordination was handled by Prof. Sukshma Adiga, Student Welfare Coordinator, and Prof. Rajeshwari Shetty, English faculty, who introduced the guests. The program’s narration was managed by BC‑class students Moksha and Santarpthi.
