Social Security Scheme; Linking of Aadhaar to bank account is mandatory

Bengaluru, June 22:The govt has made mandatory to link beneficiaries Aadhaar number to savings account with NPCI. The Karnataka Revenue Department is providing monthly pension and subsidy under various social security schemes. Beneficiaries who avail it must link their Aadhaar number with their bank, post office savings account.

Social security schemes such as old age pay, Sandhya Suraksha pay, widow pay, widow pay in cases of farmer’s suicide, pay in acid cases, disability pay, Manaswini, Maitri and National Family Assistance Schemes are being paid Aadhaar based directly from June.

So various beneficiaries have to go to bank, post office and link their Aadhaar number to savings account with NPCI. Otherwise it will be difficult to get monthly pension and subsidy in the coming days.

It comes under the Department of Revenue; The Government of Karnataka is implementing social security schemes for the below poverty line elderly helpless, infirm persons, widows, unmarried and divorced women, acid attack victims, widow pay for suicide farmer’s wife and disabled persons through the revenue department.

Directorate of Social Security and Pensions has been created under the Department of Revenue to implement the scheme in a better way. The scheme is effectively implemented with the help of the Director at the State level and District Collectors at the District level and the Deputy Directors of the Directorate of Social Security and Pensions.

At the district level, the District Collector is the district level inquiry officer for the implementation of all social security schemes. The tahsildar of the taluk is the sanctioning, in charge/ fundraising and delivery officer of all the above schemes. Nadh Office/ Deputy Tehsildar of Ataljee Janasnehi Kendra will be the Sanctioning Officer.

The Directorate of Social Security and Pensions implements and monitors these social security schemes.
