Shakti Yojana Successful: Virendra Heggade invited CM Siddaramaiah to Dharmasthala
Mangalore, July 14: In the wake of the success of the state Congress government’s ambitious Shakti Yojana, Dharamsthala Dharmadhikari, Rajya Sabha member D. Virendra Heggade has written a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah requesting him to visit Dharamsthala.
Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Virendra Heggade appreciated Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for the government’s schemes including the Shakti Yojana to provide free bus travel for women to visit Sri Manjunath’s shrine. In a letter, Heggade congratulated Siddaramaiah for presenting the 14th budget.
Rajya Sabha member Heggade said that you have given many useful programs to the people. Devotees, especially women, who visit Heggade’s Dharamsthala, express joy. Many women are offering prayers and donations to Sri Manjunath Swami in your name. The Jain community is happy with the special grant given by Siddaramaiah. He has invited you to come and have darshan of Sri Manjunath Swami whenever you get a chance.
CA Siddaramaiah tweeted about this and said that thanks to the letter written by Mr. D. Virendra Heggade, the deacons of Sri Kshetra Dharamsthal, appreciating the results of the 14th budget presented by me and appreciating the people’s recognition of our government’s ambitious energy project.
After the Congress government came to power in the state, the Shakti Yojana for free travel of women was implemented from June 11. From June 11 to July 10, i.e. in one month period, a total of 16,75,77,752 female passengers (16.75 crores) traveled. This project has also received unprecedented support from women.
The Shakti Yojana was launched on July 11 and completed one month on July 10. The government has informed that the cost of women’s travel is 399 crore rupees. After announcing 5 important guarantees in the Karnataka assembly elections, the Congress party has come to power as the majority government in the state. He said that within days of coming to power, the Congress government had implemented the Shakti Yojana for free travel for women as the first guarantee of the government.
During the 2018 state assembly elections, Siddaramaiah ate fish and had darshan of Dharmasthala Manjunath Swamy, which caused a huge controversy. It was also an election issue. But now lakhs of devotees are visiting the shrine and praising Siddaramaiah as a result of the state government’s scheme, he said, adding that Puja is also being performed in his name.
Siddaramaiah, who had clarified regarding the matter of eating fish and going to Dharmasthala, said, “I went to Dharmasthala for a program and went to the temple on the insistence of Virendra Heggade. However, he did not enter the sanctum sanctorum. He said that he stood outside and said hello. Above all, he said that he ate not only fish but also chicken that day. He also raised the question why do you discriminate in the matter of food.
