Bollywood icon Salman Khan is set to inaugurate the ninth season of filmmaker Karan Johar's popular chat show, Koffee With Karan, making a solo appearance that has already generated significant buzz. The much-anticipated season premiere, featuring the superstar often referred to as 'Bhaijaan', will stream on JioHotstar's Peacock Hub starting October 14, with new episodes releasing every Wednesday at 9 pm. A recently unveiled preview offers a glimpse into a lively conversation, revisiting a memorable past exchange between the actor and host.
The latest clip, shared on Instagram, highlights a direct question from Johar to Khan: 'Are you still a virgin?' Khan's immediate, humorous retort, 'Control, my brother, control,' mimicking actor Ravi Kishan, has captured immediate attention, leaving viewers eager for the full episode. This query isn't new territory for the duo; Johar posed the identical question during Khan's debut on Koffee With Karan Season 4 in 2013. Back then, the actor famously responded, 'Yes, I'm a virgin,' stating he was saving himself for marriage—a comment Johar later clarified as a joke rather than a serious confession.
Beyond the virginity discussion, the promo reveals other playful moments. Johar introduced Khan as a 'wise' man, alluding to Khan's viral social media post in July where he urged activist Sonam Wangchuk to conclude his fast amidst Gen Z protests. Khan, in turn, playfully teased Johar about the talk show's potential conclusion, even joking about launching 'Koffee With Salman' post-wrap-up. He also took a lighthearted jab at the filmmaker's tactic of convincing celebrities to appear by suggesting each season would be the last.
The preview also includes a more poignant exchange. Khan quoted a famous line from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, telling Johar, 'Tusi na jao, Karan' ('Please don't go, Karan'). When Johar complimented Khan's calm and composed demeanor, the actor reflected, 'The advice I gave to people, there came a point of time when I had to follow my own advice.' These interactions have further intensified anticipation for the ninth season's launch, promising an engaging start to the series.
