Chandigarh: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday paid a surprise visit to Haryana’s Sonipat district to interact with people and spend time with farmers working on agricultural land. A senior leader of the party said that the farmer planted paddy along with the women.
Rahul Gandhi reached Madina village in Sonipat district early on Saturday morning.
‘It was an impromptu visit. He interacted with villagers and farmers working in the fields. Rahul ji took part in paddy planting and drove a tractor,” Jagbir Singh Malik, Congress MLA from Sonipat, told PTI over phone.

Malik, who was present at the spot, said that Rahul Gandhi was probably going to Himachal Pradesh from Delhi.
In the pictures tweeted by the official Twitter account of the Congress, Rahul Gandhi is seen in a white t-shirt and black pants. He also interacted with the villagers in the field and planted paddy.
