Rahul Gandhi is meeting people and listening to their problems as an extension of his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. Bharat Jodo Yatra started on September 7, 2022 in Kanyakumari and ended in Srinagar on January 30, 2023. It was a long padyatra of more than 4,000 kms.
Rahul Gandhi had traveled from Washington to New York in a truck last month and interacted with the driver. The discussion focused on the everyday lives of Indian-origin truck drivers in the US. This visit came a few days after a truck journey from Delhi to Chandigarh to listen to the problems of truck drivers.
According to a statement issued by the Congress, the Bharat Jodo Yatra was to learn by listening to the voices of all sections of Indians. Especially to listen to those people who are not able to tell the stories of their successes and problems.
