CHANDIGARH: A post-mortem examination of Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Musewala, who was killed in the May 31 (UNI) shootings, has been handed over to the family.

His body was taken home from the Mansa Civil Hospital on Tuesday morning for the final rites and the funeral will be held today. The crowd is flowing to Sidhu Musevala’s final showdown.

According to sources, a post-mortem examination by a team of five doctors at Monsa Civil Hospital found that more than two dozen bullets were taken from the body of a popular singer. Musevala’s assassination came a day after the state government withdrew its security.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued notice to the state government seeking a detailed report on how many people’s security has been cut or withdrawn and the reason for the decision. The singer was among the 424 people who had withdrawn or curtailed security by Punjab police on Saturday.

The removal of security has now sparked a major political controversy with opposition parties alleging that the Bhagwant Mann government is endangering VIPs.

Lawrence Bishnoi, a gangster in Tihar Jail, is being investigated by Delhi Police. Moose Wala is a close associate of Canadian-based gangster Goldie Brar Bishnoi, responsible for the assassination.
