As part of his official visit to France, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron today, Friday, at the Elysee Palace.
During the visit, Prince Mohammed bin Salman will also lead his country’s delegation participating in the “For a New Global Financial Pact” summit, which will be held in Paris on the 22nd and 23rd of this month.
He will also participate in Saudi Arabia’s official reception for Riyadh’s candidacy to host Expo 2030, to be held in Paris on the 19th of this month.
It is noteworthy that this visit comes less than a year after the visit of the Crown Prince to the French capital in July of last year.
On the eve of the upcoming meeting, a French presidential source revealed that President Macron will ask the Saudi Crown Prince to help end the war in Ukraine.
On the eve of receiving the Saudi crown prince at the Elysee, the French presidential source said that France would officially support Saudi Arabia’s candidacy to host Expo 2030.
The source also said, “Macron will discuss with the Crown Prince on Friday issues that we both care about, such as stability in Lebanon and Iraq.”
The source added that France is waiting for Saudi Arabia to play a role with Russia and within the Group of Twenty to encourage talks on Ukraine, and this will be in the interest of everyone, including the southern countries and Saudi Arabia.
