On Friday, actor Prakash Raj responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s video addressing the youth over their use of abusive language during the Jantar Mantar protest in Delhi. Prakash Raj posted a video on social media, mimicking the PM’s style, and urged him to take responsibility for the actions of the government. The actor’s video came after a police complaint was filed against a Faridabad-based woman for allegedly using abusive language against the Prime Minister.
Prakash Raj’s video began with his signature ‘Hello Friends’ hook, and he went on to talk about how children are warned against using abusive language towards elders, but are not subjected to criminal cases or harassment. He said, ‘When children use abusive language or talk wrong to the elders, we tell them, warn them not to do it, and we ask them to learn a lesson and not do it again. But we don’t, you know, put criminal cases and police cases and harass them.’ The actor emphasized the need for the government to take accountability for their actions, particularly when it comes to the treatment of students who are protesting against the system.
Prakash Raj also warned that if the system continues to hurt or witch-hunt children, it could have consequences for others as well, including their friends and families. He added, ‘Otherwise, what happens, my friend, these children, you know, they have, when you hurt them, and you witch-hunt them, their friends, children’s friends will get hurt. Their parents who brought them up will get hurt. Their brothers, sisters will get hurt. Their uncles, aunties and their grandfathers, grandparents, all of them will get hurt.’ The actor’s video has gone viral on social media, with many praising him for speaking out against the government’s actions.
