On September 2, 2026, the Cyberabad Police Commissioner issued a suspension order against constable K Anil, a member of the City Armed Reserve Headquarters, after the officer uploaded a vulgar post on the social‑media platform X that targeted Kalvakuntla Kavitha, president of the Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) and former member of parliament and legislative council.
The post contained profanity, filthy language and personal insults that the notice described as capable of humiliating Kavitha and undermining her public image. Police guidelines require personnel to maintain high standards of discipline and decorum both on duty and in digital spaces; Anil’s conduct was judged to breach those expectations.
The disciplinary notice characterises Anil’s actions as gross negligence, dereliction of duty and grave misconduct, violations that fall under Rule‑3 of the Telangana State Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules. Consequently, his suspension will remain effective until the final resolution of the disciplinary proceedings, which may lead to termination of service.
Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police registered a formal case on September 6, charging Anil under Sections 75 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita – dealing with sexual harassment and insulting the modesty of a woman – as well as Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, which penalises publishing obscene material online. Investigators have confiscated the constable’s mobile phone and forwarded it to the Forensic Science Laboratory for forensic analysis.
On September 9, the Cyberabad Police unit posted on X that the department maintains a zero‑tolerance policy toward any misconduct against women. The statement confirmed that a preliminary enquiry report from the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police will trigger an internal departmental investigation, and that any punishment will be imposed in accordance with the relevant service rules.
