Lucknow, July 16; A significant development has taken place in Uttar Pradesh politics. SBSP president Om Prakash Rajbhar broke alliance with Samajwadi Party and joined NDA alliance. This has gained importance ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Suhaildev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief and Uttar PradeshFormer minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has joined the NDA alliance. With this, he has distanced himself from the Samajwadi Party led by former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

 

NDA

The Samajwadi Party and the SBSP contested the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections together. Both the parties also faced setbacks in the elections. The SBSP had announced the end of the alliance in early July.

 

Several people had left the party; A few days ago more than two dozen leaders left the SBSP led by Om Prakash Rajbhar. Among them was Mahendra Rajbhar, a founder member and National Vice-President.

 

There was a lot of resentment between the Samajwadi Party led by Akhilesh Yadav and the SBSP. Many leaders of SBSP left the party and joined Samajwadi Party. Now the SBSP has announced its support to the NDA alliance.

Mahendra, who had left the party, attacked Rajbhar. “Om Prakash Rajbhar is only busy collecting money. In 2002 we founded the party to work for the poor, Dalits and the deprived. But now the party is being used for collecting money,” he alleged.

State General Secretary Arjun Chauhan, State Vice President Awadhesh Rajbhar and more than two dozen leaders led by Mahendra Rajbhar left the SBSP. Speaking about this, the party’s national general secretary Arun Rajbhar said, “Those who resigned may have been influenced by the socialist party.”

He left the cabinet; Om Prakash Rajbhar was in the cabinet when Yogi Adityanath first became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He quit the cabinet during the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. On this occasion, Amit Shah and BJP tweeted a photo with Narendra Modi and congratulated both the leaders.

Om Prakash Rajbhar, who has now supported the NDA alliance, has announced his support to the NDA alliance saying, “I will go with the BJP for social justice, security of the country, good governance and welfare of all sections.”

Om Prakash Rajbhar wanted alliance with other parties keeping in view the next Lok Sabha elections. On Wednesday, he met AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi.

Om Prakash Rajbhar is expected to attend the NDA alliance meeting to be held in Delhi on July 18. The meeting has been called to show the power of the ruling party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

At the same time, the 2nd meeting of opposition parties against BJP will be held in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Around 42 parties have been invited. AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will attend the meeting.
