On a recent day, in the city of Mangaluru, Ullal Police apprehended Imran alias Surmo Imran, a resident of Darga Road, Melangadi, Ullal, who had been evading law enforcement for a considerable period. Imran, a notorious rowdy-sheeter, was wanted in connection with 23 criminal cases filed across Mangaluru City and Udupi district. To avoid detection, he allegedly donned a burqa while moving around and remained in hiding. The accused had been using this disguise to evade arrest despite multiple court warrants issued against him. Ullal Police, following sustained efforts, successfully traced and arrested Imran, who has now been produced before the competent court. The cases against him include Ullal Police Station Crime No. 118/2017, Ullal Police Station Crime No. 422/2017, Barke Police Station Crime No. 05/2018, and Mangaluru Rural Police Station Crime No. 100/2019, among others. The total number of cases against him stands at 23, with further legal proceedings underway.
