Bangalore: B.S.Yadiyurappa Saturday said no further sanctions would be needed if people strictly followed the rules and the Covid-19 infections were on the decline.
“The government is trying its best to control the situation. Covid The cases are already unfolding and we hope the situation will get better within 4-5 days, ”CM said after a three-hour meeting with lawmakers and public representatives. Mysore, Hassan, Belgaum, Kalaburagi and Vijayapur districts with high caseload. “Extending or not extending the lockdown depends on the number of cases and the positive rate at that time.”

At the video conference, Yeddyurappa appealed to elected representatives and officials to strive to prevent the spread of the virus in the districts and especially in rural areas. “You have to make sure that the positive rate in all these districts falls below 10% in another week,” he said.
The government is taking stern action on the curbs, weighing against the increasing number of cases in the districts, and will continue to fight the effects of revenues as they have contributed more than half of the state’s collection.
When deputy CM and head of the state’s Kovid task force, CN Ashwath Narayan Co-ordinating minister in charge of Mysore ST Shamshekhar, who opposed the extension of the lock-down, said the decision would be taken within 4-5 days. I don’t see the need to extend the lockdown after June 7 as cases are drastically reduced. This expansion will further hurt the already severely damaged working class, ”said Somashekhar.
Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who echoed the CM about the decision on June 7, said sanctions would have to continue if the number of cases did not decrease. “Only when the positivity is less than 10% can the situation get out of control … The death rate and daily caseload should drop drastically. Only then can we manage the situation with existing health infrastructure,” he said.
