Mangalore: Nifa virus case reported in Kerala District Collector Dr | Rajendra K.V. He has appealed.

NIFA Alert has been declared in the district as a large number of people are coming to Mangalore hospitals and educational institutes for health and education.

Nipah virus is a zoonotic disease that is transmitted from animal to human, from human to human. Fever, headache, cough, throat pain, shortness of breath and severe brain inflammation can be severe and can be fatal.

Precaution Action:

Wash hands frequently with soap and water. Infected animals such as bats and pigs must be kept away from pigs. The District Collector advised that the animals and birds should not take ingested fruit and that the body fluids of the infected person could be transmitted through the disease.
