On Wednesday, in New Delhi, the NDA demanded an apology from Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi for their comments against Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi during the Lok Sabha debate on paper leaks. The NDA condemned the remarks as baseless and false allegations. Union Minister Ramdas Athawale stated that the comments made by the Gandhi siblings were not right, considering Pralhad Joshi’s long-standing presence in Karnataka politics and his senior leadership role in the Bharatiya Janata Party.

TDP MP Krishna Prasad Tenneti described the remarks as a character assassination tactic, while BJP MP Satish Poonia highlighted that the Gandhis’ statements exposed their mentality. BJP MPs Manoj Tigga and Shashank Mani Tripathi also criticized the Congress leaders, seeking a public apology and accusing them of politicizing the debate. However, the INDIA bloc supported Priyanka Gandhi’s remarks, with Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy and Congress MP Pramod Tiwari stating that her comments were correct and based on facts.

Meanwhile, JMM MP Mahua Maji said that if Priyanka Gandhi made such a statement, it must have been based on facts and made with the welfare of students in mind. The NDA’s demand for an apology has sparked a heated debate, with both sides presenting their arguments. The controversy surrounding Pralhad Joshi’s appointment as Education Minister continues to escalate, with the opposition seeking clarification on his stance on sensitive issues.
