Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has made a big claim amidst the ongoing political stir in Maharashtra. He has clearly said that no matter how much power the opposition uses in 2024, the victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is certain. Taking a jibe at the opposition unity, he said that they have not been able to have their own leader till now. Along with this, he also defended the inclusion of Ajit Pawar in his government. He clearly said that now we have more than 200 MLAs and our work will speed up.

Modi’s victory in 2024 is certain

Actually Eknath Shinde was addressing a program in Nashik. During this, he said that the opposition leaders are trying to unite to defeat Modi in the next Lok Sabha elections, but they have not been able to decide their leader. He said that this has ensured the victory of Prime Minister Modi. He said that wherever the Prime Minister goes, he is praised. The Shiv Sena leader said Modi had the opportunity to address the US Congress (Parliament) twice and was recently honored by France with its top honour.

Talk on Ajit Pawar

Regarding Ajit Pawar joining the government, he said that we have 200 MLAs and MPs (in Maharashtra). There will be no discrimination. Injustice will not be done to anyone. With Ajit Pawar joining (in the Maharashtra government), the pace of functioning of the state government has become faster and it will take decisions more quickly, he said. Shinde made this remark in the context of Ajit Pawar’s induction into the government on July 2. The chief minister said the Mumbai Metro project and the Mumbai-Nagpur Samridhi Mahamarg scheme were stalled earlier, but his government has removed the “blockades”.

Uddhav Thackeray targeted

Hitting out at his predecessor Uddhav Thackeray, Shinde said that power does not mean sitting at home, but going among the public to implement schemes. I will not speak about those who are sitting in their homes. Pawar Saheb (Sharad Pawar) has written in his book. People who work from home have been forced to sit at home by the public.” He praised Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, saying the BJP leader was his “good friend and a big-hearted person”.
