Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the centenary of Delhi University's Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) on Saturday, marking his first visit to the campus since 2013.
During his 2013 stop as Gujarat chief minister, Modi delivered a memorable talk that used a glass of water to illustrate a “third perspective” – neither half‑full nor half‑empty, but full with water and air. The analogy underscored his preference for looking beyond conventional optimism or pessimism.
This Saturday, the premier institution, founded in 1926 by Sir Shri Ram, will celebrate 100 years of shaping scholars, entrepreneurs and policymakers. Over a century, SRCC has earned a reputation as a leading centre for commerce, economics and management education in India.
The Prime Minister's return aligns with a broader push by political parties to connect with Generation Z voters. Engaging young adults through campus visits and tailored messaging has become a strategic priority ahead of upcoming elections.
Organisers have slated the event to begin around 7 p.m. on the college grounds, where Modi will speak about the college's legacy and its role in the nation's development.
