Ministry approves overpasses over Sathekatte and Ambalpady juctions: Shobha Karandlaje

Udupi:Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, on October 21 said that the union government has sanctioned overpasses at Ambalpady and Santhekatte on National Highway 66. “The central government has approved vehicular overpasses at Ambalpady and Santhekatte of NH 66.’The government has sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the construction of two vehicular overpasses,’ she said in a press release.

In addition, the Udupi-Chkkamagaluru MP noted, “For the convenience of vehicular and pedestrian traffic, the central government has approved the construction of vehicular overpasses in these areas.”. The tender process has been completed and work will start shortly. District residents have been calling for an overpass at Ambalpady and Santhekatte junctions. The huge traffic jams and frequent accidents at these key intersections have become a hassle for commuters.
