On August 7, Minister UT Khader visited the Kapu lighthouse area, which was severely affected by coastal erosion due to strong winds and rain. After inspecting the damage, he chaired a meeting at the Kapu taluk office to discuss the natural disaster. Khader emphasized that officials should show wisdom, courage, and humanity when providing relief to the public. He instructed them to respond promptly to any issues faced by the public and to provide relief amounts quickly.
Khader also visited the Kapu taluk and reviewed the progress of various departments. He was informed that 2020 hectares of paddy crops have been planted in the taluk, but the crops have been damaged due to rainfall deficiency. The minister directed the officials to conduct a thorough survey of the crop damage and submit a report to the government. He also suggested that the officials should take measures to increase the number of farmers who have insured their crops.
The minister also inspected the condition of schools in the taluk and found that 91 classrooms out of 660 are in need of repair. He instructed the officials to take up the repair work immediately and to ensure that the classrooms are safe for students. Khader also reviewed the distribution of food, eggs, and milk to children in anganwadis and instructed the officials to conduct quality tests on the food being distributed.
Khader also directed the engineering departments to take up the repair of roads that have been damaged due to heavy rainfall. He instructed them to prioritize the repair work to ensure smooth traffic flow. The minister also discussed the issue of power outages in the taluk and instructed the officials to take measures to prevent power cuts.
