‘Meeting’ of Congress on Uttarakhand in Delhi, discussion on Lok Sabha elections
New Delhi: A meeting of Uttarakhand Congress leaders with the Congress high command was held on Thursday regarding preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. In the meeting chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Congress Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat and many party leaders were present. It was decided in the meeting that the Congress party would take out a padyatra in Uttarakhand regarding the Agniveer scheme. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will also participate in the march.
Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge tweeted the pictures of the meeting and said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand state is facing new challenges today. Our leaders and workers in the state are playing the role of a strong opposition, exposing the anti-people policies of the BJP government. It is our effort that all the people of Uttarakhand live together and take the state towards progress.
After the meeting, Rahul Gandhi said in his Facebook post that the Congress party will raise voice against injustice and crimes against women like Agneepath Yojana for the youth of Uttarakhand and establish dialogue with the public through padyatra in the state. After the meeting, Uttarakhand Congress in-charge Devendra Yadav said that an important meeting of Uttarakhand Congress has been taken by the high command regarding the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The future strategy was prepared in the meeting.
At the same time, Congress state president Karan Mahara said that Uttarakhand has suffered a big loss due to the Agniveer scheme. The Congress party will take out a padyatra in the coming days regarding the Agniveer Yojana in Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand is home to the Kumaon Regiment and the Garhwal Regiment. The youth of every village of Uttarakhand state wants to join the army.
Congress Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya said that a padayatra will be taken out by the Congress party in Uttarakhand, in which senior leaders of the party will participate. The atmosphere is changing in Uttarakhand and the change is visible. It is the effort of the Congress party to go and communicate among the public and raise the issues related to the public before the government.
