Manipur: 14 other accused identified in Manipur viral video case, police engaged in arrest

The first goods train from Guwahati arrived at Khongsang railway station in Manipur’s Tamenlong district on Monday. Officials said that due to the prevailing law and order situation in Manipur, there was a shortage of essential commodities. In view of this, the Railways, in collaboration with the state transport department, sent the first goods train full of essential commodities to the violence-affected state. It is filled with essential items like potato, rice, onion, sugar.
“In a first, North East Frontier Railway’s mixed freight train carrying essential commodities (potato, rice, sugar, onion and other food products) reached Khongsang station in Manipur,” tweets Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

In the year 2022 itself, the train was started up to Khongsang railway station under the Jiribam-Imphal new line project. But the train service was suspended on May 3 after caste violence broke out in the state. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had told during his visit to Manipur that a temporary railway station would be made operational at Khongsang for movement of people and goods. This will also benefit the businessmen of Manipur. They will easily be able to book goods through railways.
