On July 24, in Mangaluru, a large group of students staged a protest, led by the organization We The People of India Mangaluru, to condemn the NEET scam. The procession began at Milagres Circle in Hampankatta and ended at Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall, where the students held a peaceful protest. They demanded Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan take moral responsibility for the deaths of students who committed suicide due to the NEET question paper leak and resign. Student leaders, including Sushaan, Ethan Tauro, Rehan Muhammad, and Safwan Nyas, guided the massive protest. Approximately 6000-7000 students from various colleges in D.K. district participated, creating a significant event. During the procession, students held placards and chanted slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and the central government. The students expressed their anger by turning on mobile flashlights and lighting candles in front of the Town Hall. A student leader emphasized that this struggle is not limited to the NEET exam alone but a fight for the rights of every student. The protest march, which passed through Hampankatta, featured slogans demanding justice. To prevent incidents, police security arrangements were made along the route. The protest concluded peacefully, with participants pledging to continue the struggle until justice is served. The students, holding candles and placards, urged the government to take action, concluding the protest with a message: our future is not for sale, our dreams must get justice.
