Mangaluru: Officeal Raided the Wedding Ceremony at Mangaladevi Temple Premises in violation of the Lockdown Rules
Mangalore: Getting information about the wedding ceremony at Mangaladevi temple premises in violation of the lockdown rules the district administration along with officials from Mangaluru City Corporation on Sunday June 20 raided. The raid was led by a sub-divisional officer, Madan Mohan.
The entry to the Mangaladevi temple has been restricted to worshippers and the general public since the announcement of the lockdown in Dakshina Kannada district. However, more than a hundred people attended the wedding ceremony of BJP nominated corporator Bhaskar Chandra Shetty’s daughter in temple premises along with three other couples which was lavishly decorated. At the Outdoors, at than 50 cars were lined up. Music was also put in the wedding hall.
Hundreds of weddings organized during the lockdown have been postponed. In the meantime, the wedding at Mangaladevi temple in violation of the lockdown rule has caused a lot of civic displeasure. The authorities have been informed on this background.
Sub-divisional officer, Madan Mohan, who received information about the marriage arrangement, has raided and inspected it, who had reviewed all documentation from the temple’s governing body allowing marriage, and asked the temple’s managing trustee for holding four weddings at a time flouting COVID-19 Norms
Speaking to media, AC Madan Mohan said, “The place has been inspected in the backdrop of complaints about the marriage taking place in violation of the lockdown rule at Mangaladevi temple. The Commissioner of Religious Affairs has been instructed to investigate and issue a report. The report will be filed on the seriousness of the report. ”
