Manguluru : On July 2, immigration authorities at Mangalore Worldwide Airport recovered gold value greater than Rs 20 lakh from a Dubai Passanger
The passenger, Moideen Munasir Mohammed, a Kasaragod resident, has been booked with an offence. Moideen was found smuggling 430 grammes of gold in powder kind blended with strong gum hidden within the rectum after arriving from Dubai on Air India Specific flight No.IX 248. The gold is estimated to be value roughly Rs 20,89,800.
Praveen Kandi, Deputy Commissioner, led the customs staff, which included Rakesh Kumar, Superintendent, Vikas Kumar, Superintendent, Bikram Chakraborty, and different officers.
