Mumbai, July 4: At least 10 people were killed and more than 20 injured in a horrific accident in Maharashtra’s Dhule. The truck lost control on the highway in Dhule district and not only collided with the canals, it also rammed into a hotel on the roadside.
This terrible accident happened on Tuesday morning. The accident took place around 10.45 am near Palasnar village on the Mumbai-Agra highway in Dhule, 300 km from Mumbai, a police official said.
The brake of the truck failed and the driver lost control of the truck. A truck lost control and collided with a two-wheeler, a car and another container on the road. Later, the bus hit a hotel near the bus stand on the highway and overturned, police said.
At least 10 people were killed and more than 20 injured in the mishap, police said. The truck was heading towards Dhule from Madhya Pradesh. The police have informed that the number of deaths and injuries has increased as a result of the truck running over those who were waiting for the bus. The police rushed to the spot after coming to know about the matter. The injured have been shifted to Shirpur and Dhule hospitals, police said.
A second heinous tragedy took place in the state even before the horrific incident in which 25 people died after a bus collided with a pillar on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway and caught fire.
